Rather than being 'open' to things of the Spirit, we actively pursue Him.
Our aim is to connect people to Jesus, so we want everything we do to point to Him.
We want to reach people regardless of their background, culture or what they believe about Jesus. We never want finances to be an obstacle.
We believe in the authority of Jesus to do things in His name, releasing young people to be active in their faith.
Because we believe excellence honours God, we aim to improve constantly and facilitate experiences of the highest quality.
We are firmly planted in the teachings of the Bible, which is our final authority for belief and practice.
We cherish working together and believe in like-minded partnership. Anyone is welcome to join us, but meaningful partnership comes through relationship and shared values.
We back the local church and want to support local leaders, while encouraging young people to engage with a church in their area.
Since the early 2000's, a number of youth pastors from local churches had already been working together due to existing friendships and ministry connections, doing occasional combined youth events and training with leaders (mainly through sharing experience with fellow pastors). At that stage, roughly a dozen churches from different denominations in the Western Cape were attending the BYSA Summer Camp in Kimberley; a large camp event facilitated by the Baptist Youth of South Africa.
Half a dozen pastors from the Western Cape, who were part of these camps, felt the stirring of the Holy Spirit to start something local in the Western Cape so that: more people from the Western Cape could be part of a local, more financially accessible, gathering and able to sustain growing & ongoing relationships; combined events could move away from any single church denomination, becoming more integrated; a bigger emphasis could be put on the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and what Spirit-life looks like in the lives of young people.
At the end of 2012, this ministry partnership was established & formalised under the label Remerge Ministries.
